Answered Prayer

He always sighed a little when he said it.

“I just really want a dog,” he’d say.

If his teacher at school asked if their were any prayer requests, he’d raise his hand and ask for prayer so that he could have a dog.

He’s only 8 but he’s been praying for years.

And now God has answered and arranged for us the perfect dog.

Welcome Trott, a lab that we rescued through labs4rescue.  He is well-mannered, quiet, and polite.  Playful but not destructive.  The whole family loves him already.

Especially my son.

Suffer little children to come to me and forbid them not:  for of such is the kingdom of God.  Luke 18:16

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.  Matthew 21:22

  1. Steve came over to see the pics of Trott and his comment was “he looks very intersted in something” which made me laugh b/c he looks like he is about to go after a rabbit or somehting in that last picture!
How old is he? I am sure the kids are very grateful!  I love the fact that you rescued him..makes him more special.

  2. Well. it is no secret that I love labs!  They are like fun people and I am sure Ethan and Trott will become wonderful pals. God is good!  Allie girl sends her best wishes for a wonderful life.

  3. Ohhhhhh….Sweetness!  A wonderful new puppy dog!  Oh I love him!  As you probably know, we love dogs and furry animals at our house.. I’m very happy for your family, my husband’s family had a black lab named LeRoy when I first met my husband, very loving dogs.  : )  Enjoyed your beautiful pictures too.  Our “Charlie” is a rescued dog from the pound.  He was the pet of the month and when we first went to go see him he clung to my youngest’s with his little paws around her..she started to cry and said..”Oh…I love him”  God truly cares about even our pets too, they are so a part of His beautiful creation for us to enjoy and love and be loved.
    Blessings and hugs!

  4. what a cute dog!  we have a yellow lab and she is wonderful with the kids!  she comes running whenever they cry….and once we lost wyatt while visiting a friend in the country (yep, we’re good parents) and when we went looking for him we heard the dog barking–there she was right with little 2 y/o wyatt!
you guys are going to have fun!

  5. Way to go Trot…you made your first blog! 🙂 It is neat how God answers His children’s prayers perfectly. I hope Ethan always remembers his answer and learns to wait on the Lord…may this be a big stone in his life! 🙂

  6. Yeah – for “E”  That is so cute Shan…I know my kids all prayed and asked for their pets. Madelynn is younger than Ethan and she is turning out to be a responsible pet owner.  Can’t wait to hear how things are going with your new family member!

  7. Ethan proudly showed me his book last night with pictures…it was so cute.  I can’t wait to meet Trott.  He looks like a sweet pup.

  8. Trott is beautiful!  My son adopted a lab last month….only it was a puppy. My son has found out that being a “mom” isn’t all hugs and cuddly play!! (LOL) My son  (Gabe) PROMISED to buy the dog food, shampoos, shots etc, etc…and so far I’ve made him purchase everything-so that the responsibility of having a dog really, really, really sinks in. I think it has because he has to get up in the middle of the night and take Capo out to potty…it’s been a great life lesson.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your post with the Mr. Rogers song!! It’s beautiful..the photos more than the song…but I love the way you put it together! Way to go!
