Grace’s first Christmas dresses.

The red plaid was made for her by her Great Grandma.  I admire the smocking and think of the loving hands that pieced this tiny dress together.  I wonder what Grandma was thinking of as she worked?  No doubt she thought of the little baby girl who lived too far away for frequent visits.  Grace has Grandma Lillian’s name for her middle name.

I bought the blue and white checkered dress for her.  After two baby boys, I was so pleased to have a baby girl.  She was born in November and I found this dress before she had even arrived.  I thought it was so pretty.

She has a new dress this Christmas, too.  Now that she is seven year old, it is getting harder to find those special little-girl dresses.

I love you, Grace.

Blessed

  1. Beautiful.  I know this post was about your sweet daughter but it made me think, your heart must be so full of love having five children.  I have so much love for my two boys that at times I think my heart will burst.  How do you fit the love for five precious people in there??

  2. I too have kept some of Abby’s very special dresses. I love smocked dresses, and those are just beautiful! How special to have a dress made by loving hands! Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂 Heather

  3. I was telling Rich Wednesday night how much I love having her in the children’s choir…she has such a cute voice.  She came up to the piano while I was rehearsing (and Ethan, too, but he left), and stood there turning the pages for Suzanne and singing along with me.  It was so precious, I enjoyed that moment so much.  You’ve raised a sweet family. 🙂
