My husband has wanted a certain sort of decorated tree for several years and this year we did it! We have our tree and the kids have their own tree.
Our Tree: Silver and Blue Theme
Their Tree (is it sweet or what? we even made the garland by stringing pasta on yarn and the glittering it) Also, our son Jacob put the new tree stand together himself w/no help at all. It’s set up upstairs:

Lovely trees, both of them!
Hugs
Oooh! Very pretty. Ours is silver and blue, too. I love that look. The kids’ tree is absolutely precious. I’m sure they’re loving having it.
I love blue and silver. Next year, when I have different paint on the walls in here, I want blue and silver. Ours is maroon and gold theme π The kids’ tree is adorable, I bet they had a blast. Missed you tonight, I was out this morning with Alex, he has a bad cold. Hope you’re doing well tonight. Love, Trish
The trees are so beautiful!
So sweet. I love them both!
I like them both!the kids tree is so sweet
BEAUTIFUL trees, I LOVE them both
Tell Rich I think that is a great idea!!! I am sure the kids were just going crazy with excitement!
Very pretty trees. I love hearing the kids did their own decorating. It makes it so special. :)I am sorry you had a blue day the other day. I think everyone does occasionally. Look at King David in the Bible. He went through some pretty down times too. We just have to hang on to the Lord and he will see us through. HugsBlessings
I love the idea of two trees! My mind is already racing about how I can convince my husband to let me have two trees next year! (and why stop at two? I could put one in every room, each with a different theme!!!) π sooo beautiful, Shanda. I love the way they are both decorated, but each uniquely different.
both trees are beautiful! Aren’t kids creative? = )
Pretty trees! I love the pictures on your site!!
What a great idea to let the children have their own little tree. They both look beautiful. I love the pasta garland. Too cute.
I imagine the children are just tickled pink to have their very own tree! π
Oh, what great trees! The “grown up” tree is gorgeous and the children’s tree is so, so precious!
I just got caught up on your posts since thanksgiving. What a wonderful writer, you are. The pictures are exquisite and somehow each post just touches that deep down place in my heart. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful family, your precious, sentimental thoughts and your picture taking talents with us.
Blessings to you!
Jana
What beautiful trees! Everyone must have had a wonderful decorating them.
Oh, they’re both beautiful! I’ve done that before too. Have a big one for “me” to decorate, and one that’s the kids. Haven’t got them out yet this year, but the youngun’s won’t let me forget. =)
That’s a great idea to let them have their own tree….If I had more room I’d do it and decorate it only with things we make together!!! The naked baby caleb made me smile:)
