Morning has Broken

Morning has Broken    words by Eleanor Farjeon (1881-1965)

Morning has broken
Like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken
Like the first bird

DSCN39990001

Praise for the singing
Praise for the morning
Praise for them springing
Fresh from the world

DSCN40030001

Sweet, the rain’s new fall
Sunlit from heaven
Like the first dew fall
On the first grass

DSCN39980001

Praise for the sweetness
Of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness
Where His feet pass

Mine is the sunlight
Mine is the morning
Born of the one light
Eden say play

Praise with elation
Praise ev’ry morning
God’s re-creation of the new day

Morning has broken
Like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken
Like the first bird

DSCN40190001

Praise for the singing
Praise for the morning
Praise for them springing
Fresh from the world

I’ll tell you how the sun rose a ribbon at a time.  ~Emily Dickinson

  1. I like your new colors!  And the first picture and the last are my favorite…but they are all beautiful.  Those two just seem to capture the essence of morning though.  Have a good weekend!!
