Laughter the Best Medicine:  Well, I figured I would surprise everyone with PEANUTS today.  Variety is the SPICE of life, after all!  Enjoy the laughs, I sure did.  I was reading the kid’s PEANUT comic book all during quiet time.

Those of you who know me REALLY well (my family and Joanna), know that I used to be obsessed w/watching GYMNASTICS and I used to tape every single competition that was on TV.  As a young teen, I used to watch my gymnastics tapes all the time, then go out on the lawn and practice my cartwheels (and backhandsprings, and walkovers, and leaps, etc). . . . .I guess that’s why I liked this one:

Laugh A Lot

Something that made me laugh in real life today:  I called Jacob, Ethan, and David to the livingroom to pick up their sneakers and take care of them.  All 3 pairs were in the way!
I must’ve gotten distracted because hours later, when the kids were all in bed having quiet time, I finally noticed.
David had picked his sneakers up and put them on the coffee table.
I’m sure part of the reason that I thought it was cute was because he was sleeping like an angel in the other room, and all that I had of him was the sight of his little shoes left behind.

  1. Too funny! Made me smile. The peppermint hot chocolate picture is actually a picture from FoodTV. The peppermint hot chocolate at Starbucks has peppermint flavoring sprinkled on top. It was really good, I liked it. I also like Gingerbread Latte. I could spend all day in a bookstore, it relaxes me.

  2. Shandra,
I have always loved Peanuts!  Thank you for sharing those sweet cartoons!
RYC, I am not quite as frazzled as I was but she did call me and she is going on her first date with him tomorrow night.  Heaven help us mothers!

  3. LOL the 1st one was too funny.Just discovered your comment in my guest book, thank you.If you ever need any encouragement with homeschool please ask. We just graduated our daughter from highschool and God totally blessed our efforts. Please read my post from June 18 2006 to meet my daughter Brianna

  4. Oh I love Peanuts. Thank you for sharing that with me. We do need laughter, don’t we. My kids provide a lot of that for me. It sounds like yours do too. Thank you Shanda for your always kind comments on my blog. A lot of what I write, I am really writing to preserve. One day the Lord might have me put it in a book, and if it is on my blog, then it is down. For years I just treasured them up in my mind, but never wrote in journals, etc. I love writing it, even though some days it is hard to get the time. But whether I ever write a book or not, I want these things written down for my children. Even though I believe that God is healing me of this cancer, and is giving me many more years on earth, the truth is none of us are promised tomorrow, and I want my kids to know many of the things that have influenced my life. All my love, Beverly

  5. Hey Shanda, you made me giggle. πŸ™‚  I love the Peanuts, too.  I especially love the part about the waffle iron.  Hmm.  I don’t have one, maybe I need one?  My sister was obsessed with gymnastics, it drove me batty.  I love the sneakers on the coffee table, that is just too cute.
RYC: I’m so glad I could be your lunchtime entertainment…hehe.

  6. GREAT RELUCTANCE? Didn’t that hit a little close to home?  :  P  And the one about “the last day of my life” sounds a little like a good friend we all know and love?  Beautiful and talented?  Modest and un-assuming?  :  )

  7. Hey are these comics from the books that used to be up at my house?  I used to love those books.  Peanuts is so great.
At least you can find the humor in the moment…
    LoveYa
