It’s Fun Fun Friday
We are done with school for the day. The kids and I decided that today was going to be extra fun and so we set up the tent outside. The sun is shining but it is very cold. We are now going to the bookstore so we can get books to read in the tent. We also have to go to the grocery store for the ingredients to make the best birthday cake ever. The ingredients for SMORES would be nice, too. After all, what’s a camp without a fire and some food?
UPDATE (hours have gone by):
Bookstore Pictures:
I love seeing my children reading. . . . .
Now it’s time for the CAMPFIRE:
We were proud of Ethan–for being the best at producing charcoal!
Jacob is showing Ethan how to toast a marshmallow without any BLACK.
Ummmm, David? I don’t THINK that’s going to work. Look how much he’s concentrating!
Fun Fun Fun

Thanks for sharing the pictures of your fun day. We have a book store that we love to visit, it has tons of comfy couches and chairs tucked in neat spots we could spend hours there. Guess what this pregnat Mama is craving now? They sure look yummy.
I would love to do this with my kids! Looks like so much fun. I know you are kids love having a fun mom. Your pictures are wonderful and nothing is better than getting your children to love books at an early age. My girls love to read and so will my son!-Tara
very nice Shanda, tried to give you a call today just to say hi, but now I know where you were! π Love the pict of Caleb! Friday seemed to be a fun day huh? We went to Uno’s and then to the mall and let the kids play in the play area at Enfield. We had a nice time. Take care talk to you soon!

Great blog- loved your photos! That great hat on your son reminds me of a catalog that I love. Have you ever seen the Vision Forum catalog? It has lots of wonderful books and toys that teach children how to play like ladies and gentlemen- very traditional. It really encourages homemaking activities for girls and chivalrous, masculine things for the boys. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I love it. Take care and have a great weekend! Laurel
Hi π Thanks for the comment and thanks for visiting my site,,I hope you liked it π That is cool that you have a little brother named Isaac π God Bless~ Shannon~
Is it just me or do homeschooled kids have a “look” about them? They just look so happy with who they are, so in love with exploring and learning. I just love it. These are great pictures, all of them. Although, I did slow down a lot and studied the smore picture…beautiful!!
I simply LOVED this post. Caleb with the broom.. adorable!! And I love that you had a campfire and smores. The smores picture is amazing!! Seeing you all cuddled up in a blanket with your sweet babes around you made me want to run out and have a campfire right now!! smores for dinner anyone? π
My friend and I just can’t get over what a great mother you are! How DO you do it? Jesus is probably it, right?
Your such a great Mother!!!!
Does this mean I can stay in a tent if I come visit?! The whole day sounds like so much fun!
What a great parenting idea! I hope i can go back and read your posts when I am a mom so that I can have fresh ideas! I am glad you take the time to enjoy your children.
Oooooh, this brings back sweet memories for me! I am taking occasional breaks and browsing through your blog – what a pleasant experience!
