My life. . .moments of one day. . .
It’s not enough if you are busy. The question is, what are you busy about? Thoreau
The Face Paint Story:
The kids found face paint the other night. Before Rich and I knew what was going on they were all decorated, including the baby. I’m talking face, belly, legs, arms. . .stripes, dots, and large areas of skin were covered with paint. It was sort of funny, they were running around outside, but when we called them in to get washed up we quickly realized that It. Would. Not. Come. Off. Easily. Rich and I had to scrub and scrub them with Dawn dishsoap while kneeling side by side by the tub, the bath water turned green, I got soaked trying to use the handheld shower and Caleb got soap in his eyes. At one point we had 3 boys in the tub at once. Grace got the shower to herself, the boys had to have a community wash. I wanted to put them straight to bed, it was about 7:30 when they were finally all clean, but Rich wouldn’t hear of it. I tried to recite the Mother Goose rhyme, “There was an old woman who lived in a shoe, she had so many children she didn’t know what to do. She . . . . .spanked them all soundly and sent them to bed. ” No, said my husband, the problem with that is the old woman who lived in a shoe did not homeschool and we still have math to do! It was such a crazy time that I just had to laugh.
Time it was
and what a time it was
Great pictures! Hope you don’t mind me subscribing. Thanks for taking the time to comment my site.
Also, the fabulous shoes are from JCPenney’s of all places. They come in brown, black and red. I’m getting the brown ones but was tempted to get all three. We’ll see after they come if they are as fabulous as they look.
The real question here is did you manage to snap any photos of the face paint story!! Good luck with math tomorrow!
Great Pictures!!! Great story too 🙂
Alas, there are no pictures of the face paint. No time to get the camera. Not only were we scrubbing it off the kids, we were also washing it out of the sinks, off door knobs, off the tub, etc. It was oil based and we still have “new house paranoia”. I was washing it off the front door this morning, I’m against face paint now, LOL.
These are beautiful pictures!! I just finished reading THIS post and wanted to say “Thanks!” for posting it. We are dealing with so many issues every day and attitudes that are constanly being tweaked and trained that it is easy to forget to thank the Lord for the desire to want to see them trained correctly (Biblically). I think I need to get that book!PS: Were you born in 76? I was and purple is my favorite color and my birthstone is amethyst… just had to ask!!!
It looks like you have fun days Love those baby feet!!! Love the bonnett too!

No wonder you didn’t make it to church last night. I would have been exhausted after all that, too. I loved the story, though and can just picture you and Rich scrubbing everyone and everything down.Hopefully I’ll see you on Sunday. I’m feeling great and hope to bring the new little one to church. We went last night, but tried to get in and out as quickly as possible.
Oooh My goodness! I hope you can chuckle about it in years to come. 🙂 Kids. They keep life interesting don’t they? Be blessedMelody
Gorgeous pictures!!!!Blessings,~Angie
Ok too funny…I’m glad I’m not the only one with kids that like to get into things…We had shampoo, bubble bath, toothpaste, and lotion, all over our upstairs bathroom about a month ago. The two youngest were only left alone for about 5 minutes. Oh, well I guess my house doesn’t conform to your list of incontrol parents. But Oh, well. They are still learning. They are children and not adults. They will act like children on occation
Amanda is suposed to be over later!
