This is a picture of some of the vintage fiesta that I own.  I bought the disc pitcher in Sturbridge, the turquoise and yellow dishes I bought this week in Somers, CT.   The vintage ivory plate and cobalt plate I bought in Suffield, CT.    In “real life” the pitcher is the same color as the rest of the yellow in this photo.

I received a new “Country Living” magazine today.  Here are some quotes for inspiration:

I like a rich color such as an earthy brown in the home.  It provides a reassuring contrast to the highly technical times we live in today.  Chris Madden, designer

A good cast iron skillet has a unique recipe of its own, a sort of DNA-its seasoning that it perfects over time

Abundance, the season’s theme, calls for a table brimming with beautiful color.

Give thanks
       and in all
things be
grateful.

Abundance begins with a home that brims with laughter, where conversation is plentiful, and bounty is measured by hours spent with loved ones.  Fill yours to overflowing.

Natural beauty

the earthy warmth of wood

At home in comfort

simply thankful

  1. Nice!  I think the color you chose for you background is perfect it reminds me if butternut squash…just right for this season.  This color against the blue colored plates is stunning!
Did you read your mag. out on the porch in the rocker?

  2. Gotta love the Fiesta!
I agree whole-heartedly about the brown.  You know I plan to decorated in brown and beige in my family room.  It is a nice backdrop to the FIESTA!
I don’t have a cast iron skillet yet. *GASP!*  I’m waiting to get one from a tag sale or flee market.

  3. Hi, thanks for coming by. I figured that you were probably born in Feb. Our daughter was born Feb. 7, 1984, but she only lived about 19 hours. She was born with Group B Strep. Her name was Rachel Elizabeth.
I collect Fiestaware also, although I only collect the blue and yellow. Those are the colors of my kitchen. I think I’ll have to post a picture

  4. Ohhhh I loved your quotes! They were “delightful” and sooo inspiring… I’ve been trying to figure out how to decorate for fall and you just gave me what I have been lacking: color and more fall stuff!  lol.   Thanks for the post.

  5. i’m not a fiesta collector but I’m intrigued by the bright colors and I was wondering… when you use fiesta ware for dinner guests, does everyone get a different color?  do you match bowls and additional plates with the dinner plate or do you mix n match?
