How about this one…
I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live – Ecclesiastes 3:12
How about Rejoice?
Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!” Let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them! Then the trees of the forest will sing, they will sing for joy before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16: 31-34
or
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24
I always remember VBS when I read this verse. It is still my father-in-laws favorite song.
Also this reminds me of Polyanna – “You know the Glad verses” I want to get that movie for my kids, but you can’t find it on DVD in the US. Have a cheerful day!
Matthew 5:11,12 God blesses you when you are mocked and persecuted and lied about because you are my followers. Be HAPPY about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven.
Do celebrate or great joy count as “happy”? Nehemiah 8:10-12Go and celebrate with a feast of choice foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our LORD. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength! So the people went to eat and drink at a festive meal, to share gifts of food, and to celebrate with great joy because they had heard God’s words.
Proverbs 17:22 is my fav out of this bunch!
