Rich thinks I’m WONDER WOMAN!!

The name of this color that I am typing with is called “SPRING”. . . .

Rich thinks I am wonder woman because I got the garage and yard work under control.  It was such a mess out there.  Not only that, but my house is still pretty clean.  I’m not bragging, am I?  Really, you all know me well enough to know I wouldn’t brag!  I’m just so happy.

Here is my secret.  In order to get everything accomplished in one day YOU MUST KEEP WORKING ALL DAY LONG!  Doesn’t that sound like fun?  But, as we all want to teach our children, there is NOTHING wrong with a good, hard, day’s work!

I do take a break now and then—I sometimes sit and watch TLC’s “What Not to Wear”.  I do sit and read to David or sit and watch him play.  Other than that, I am constantly busy.  But not in a frantic way (except toward the end of the day when I have all 5 fluttering about me, wanting the dinner that I don’t have done yet, and I’m tired at this point and wanting my husband home but he’s still an hour away, but that’s another story).

The yard work was done utilizing the strength of my children.  For two days this week we’ve come home from school and raked leaves.  I even went to the hardware store and bought 3 more rakes and 15 leaf bags.  The kids raked and they picked up sticks.  I bought some rugged rubbermaid storage containers for toys in the garage.  And so help me, the toys better stay picked up!  I decided that things can be left out all day long as they play, but before we come in for the night the yard has to be cleaned up and things put away in their proper places.  For those of you that live in Windsor Locks (just me, ha ha ha), the leaves will be picked up on April 11.

And, can you believe it?  I’ve been awake since 4.  Yes, that’s right.  4:00 am.  Caleb woke up and I couldn’t go back to sleep after I nursed him in our bed.  He is all stuffed up and coughs and he was not very relaxing to sleep with.  So I got up at 5:30 and wrapped myself up in a quilt and went outside with my Bible.  I read some of Proverbs and listened to the bird singing.  And the traffic speeding.  And the planes ROARING over me.  And, I dreamed about living in the country again.

Guess what else?  Today is Rich’s birthday and he has the day off.  There is so much I want to get done but today is his day and he gets to arrange the day.  I just hope I can (maybe) take a . . . . NAP.

Adventures at Home!

  1. This is so motivational!  I know you are right about working all day to get it donw, and to keep it staying that way!

    Love, JO

  2. Are you sure you’re not Wonder Woman? I have big plans to work out in my yard this afternoon, too. Hopefully I can get it done. Have fun with your husband home… and I think you deserve the nap.

  3. Yay for Shanda! I know how hard it is to get out there and do yard work, especially when the only time to do it is on the weekend.
