“The very act of complaining/criticism destroys warm feelings toward the target of that criticism.”
“Elimination/diminution of criticism adds to loving feelings.”
“Complaining doesn’t lead to anything good. No, but appreciation does lead to something good.”
“Do we reward him for going to work, mowing the lawn, fixing the cars? He needs to be rewarded, because you love him.”

Good quotes. Especially the first one….”complaining/criticsm destroys warm feelings toward the target of that criticism.” How true.Such a cozy picture.Happy Friday to you. =)
Yes, yes, yes!
I feel so ashamed after getting up very early to be in the WORD and PRAYER, my 21 year old almost 22 gets me all upset. Or better put I allow her to upset my morning of sweet calm and find myself being more complaining and quarrelsome than she was. We can build or tear down with our own hands. I want so much to live life by His Spirit and not by my might. How sad for the rest of my children to have to wake up to quarreling. Please if you have time pray for me. Blessings Christie
@Shepherdsfold – I will absolutely pray! We all have moments like that. There is abundant forgiveness and mercy at the throne of God. Oh how He loves us. A peaceful day to you!

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve missed your picture posts as of late 🙂 I hope you are having a great week so far!! 🙂
Shanda I am not trying to “complain” here but isn’t it fixed yet?! Where are your regular blogs?! I miss you!
Hello Shanda! It has been a while since I have commented on your blog. As I read today, I remember how your gentle way of writing calmed my anxious heart in times past. As I read this post and your newest post, I could relate far too well. Your quote, “The very act of complaining/criticism destroys warm feelings toward the target of that criticism.” I needed to read that today, and meditate on it. I have been praying and seeking the Lord for the past couple weeks so much in this area. Seeking how to never tear down with my words when correcting or expressing needs, but to build up…give life with my words. My mom has always said, “Our word hold so much power, don’t speek negative words and give the enemy power in our lives.” I tell my kids, “The Bible tells us our words speak blessings or cursings, life or death, so which will you choose?” I just need to remember this! Seeking the Lord to calm my anxious heart due to the busy life we find ourselves thrown into, and take a deep breath. Praying the Lord bless you and your beautiful family today. It is a beautiful day here in PA. Our family of 8 is helping at our church’s VBS this week. Late nights, and sleepy mornings. Blessings ~Deborah
