following the quacks

When I was getting ready to leave for the weekend, I went out on the porch and heard quacking coming from the stream down below our property.  Ethan ran down to look, and took the camera with him.

He took this picture for me and I think it’s lovely.  Apparently the quacking was coming from the female duck.  She wasn’t too happy with her mate, who had left her on one side of a log while she was on the other.  When they were back together again, they swam away, up the flowing stream, under snow covered pine branches.

I hope you are having a peace-full and beauty-full day today

  1. your title made me think it might be a post about christians or some religious group.. glad to see it’s just a NORMAL pair of quacks! ;)beautiful shot. i love the snow sitting on the branches

  2. I have a quick question: do you know of any company that is capable of taking an xanga blog and turning it into a book? I know it can be done with a blogspot blog but havent found any place that does xanga. I’d like to turn my family xanga blog into a book sometime…..I’m years behind on doing albums but this would be easy since it’s all there!!

  3. Yes a lovely shot with the snow on the branches in the back ground. I keep thinking that water sure must be cold. Maybe she was quacking about having to get into the cold water πŸ˜‰ LOL

  4. hi shanda…….so funny you posted this.  we live by a lake and just the day before, my boys and i saw “mr. & mrs. mallard” (as we affectionately call them) across the street in our neighbor’s yard.  so, i snapped a picture.  we always say that when we see them waddling around, spring is surely here!  if i remember correctly, it was you who wrote about ducks last year (or sometime in the past) and right when i was reading that post i glanced out the window behind the computer and saw mr. & mrs. mallard walking on our lawn.  it seems we’re “in synch” when it comes to ducks!
