On the first day of Christmas,
day number one,
Ethan and Mama made……
**ooey gooey sticky orange**
popcorn balls!!!
I was on my friend onehappymomma’s blog and found the recipe. I showed it to Ethan first thing this morning and before I knew it, he had copied it down and was back in the kitchen, stirring the syrup and popping the popcorn! I helped him finish up, and we burned our hands a little, forming the popcorn into balls. They taste very yummy but are too sticky for Jacob to eat (because of his braces). We decided to make them again on Saturday, to take to Grace’s first piano recital, only we will go to the store to buy red and green jello for that batch.
Merry Christmas!

Yum! I remember making popcorn balls when I was a kid. I have never been able to find that particular recipe for them. It’s silly, I know… but I am SO excited about your chickens! I hope they are all “getting the hang of it” soon!
I love your new header picture…so festive and pretty! Did you have any eggs this morning? Have a great day.
Wow they look very good!!
Yummy how fun~ Have a great day love ya Sissy
That look really yummy…but whats even yummier is the story you tell of how you worked together:) I love your heartwarming stories!
HA HA I just heard the xmas music after turning on my speakers!!!!!!!!!!! My 4 year old likes the cats singing:):):)
How fun! yum, yum.
I love popcorn balls but have never made them. Not sure if I should share this with the littles or not…..
Oh the sugar!!
I ordered some old (VERY old, like from the 1950s!) issues of Ideals Christmas magazines. I just read a story today of a Christmas where the tree was decorated with homemade ribbon candy, strawberries, cherries, and POPCORN BALLS! And, here you are with your own popcorn ball story!
How fun! Are you doing something special every day till Christmas?
My MIL makes these every Christmas, only she uses molasses and I’m not sure what else, but they are good. 😀
We used to do this. Now those pictures made me want to make them again with a grandchild. hmmm and yum, that sounds like a plan. Thank you my dear.
