For the weekend, I decided to open up a Valentine’s Day giveaway here on my blog. Yes, I know we still have a week of January left but time flies, right?
After I finished up the children’s bean bags, I put together a CORNBAG for one of you.
This is what it looks like:
The outside fabric is a nice thick flannel. The length is 11 1/2 inches, and the width is 10 inches — so it’s nice and big. The label is the same material, red with white polkies (my word for polka dots), that I used for the boy’s bean bags and it is embroidered with pink, with the word LOVE. I hope whoever wins the bag remembers that God loves them and that all love comes from Him.
The inside is filled with whole corn— hard corn kernels, which, after about 2 minutes in the microwave, stay nice and hot/warm for about 45 minutes. I personally have two of these wonderful cornbags….almost every time I need to rest I warm one up and put it on my lower back or down under the covers at my feet. So cozy.
I’ve made them for friends, for my kids, and everyone loves them so I know you will, too!
If you would like a chance to win this one, made with my very own hands with LOTS OF LOVE, please leave a comment on this post. I’ll be back SUNDAY EVENING to take down the names, pick one randomly out of a hat (or fiesta bowl
), and announce the winner.
Happy Weekend to you!
~Shanda~

Oh, I can feel the warmth already!! Count me in!
Count me in! can you show me how to make one someday? I love how this one looks!
Add me to the list. I’d love to try one with corn. Mine are filled with rice.
That is so cool! I would LOVE to be added to the list! 🙂
cute idea, Shan! I love the hearts with the kids names on them!
You make such pretty things – and you’re getting ready to have a baby too! Was praying for you this morning
What a sweet idea. Thank you so much for doing this. What a special present.
Even as I sit here, I have some really cold feet! I can imagine having a nice corn bag to curl my toes around. I think I may have to make myself one as soon as I get my sewing machine (next week maybe!). Thanks for posting those bean bag games. I think I will be digging through the toys for ours today!
Hi ! Remember me? A young woman from France who came on your blog last year. What a lovely handmade gift you made and what a generous idea -I would be happy to be on your list but I don’t think it’s possible considering I’m living in France…but it’s up to you after all ! 🙂
it is so pretty! what a great idea!
Oh, how comfy to sleep with! I would love – love – LOVE to be on the list! ~ Robin ~
Ooooohhh! I used to have a warmer similar to that and I used it so much that little holes developed and it was eventually held together with more thread than fabric. Many times have I thought to replace it but never have been able to -Count me in!! And thank you, Shanda for being so thoughtful and giving
well I better put my name in! lol…. 🙂
Hey! Me too! 🙂
It looks so cozy! And I love the thought and sentiment behind it. I would love to have something made with such love…to remind me of God’s love for me.
How sweet! I love your hearts for the children and and I think I’ll pirate the idea for mine.
Pick me! Pick me! Oh that sounds heavenly.
Well, of course put my name in! I would LOVE it! It is adorable ~
How adoreable. I love reading your posts. You inspire me to find joy in the little things. Blessings to you and your sweeet family!
You know how I LOVE handmade!!! You are SO nesting…you’re starting to sound like me…coming up with things to keep you busy (as if 5 kids don’t keep you busy enough!). 🙂 He’ll be here SO soon. Can’t wait!
I love the cornbag. I can imagine it keeps you very warm. What a great idea. I’d love to win it and ask you please add my name to your giveaway. Blessings.
I’m fighting the urge not to jump up and down with one hand in the air yelling…. oo, oo oo pick me, pick me LOL.
Count me in please. (calmly sitting down).
I heard alot about them, but never bought one yet–it’d be great to win one! What a neat idea–count me in. I love your site, you are such an encouragement to me. Have a great weekend!
Steve keeps stealing mine, so put my name in! Shanda do I have friend rights, I mean can I post a few comments to get my name in the bowl a few more times?
Ohhh… that is so sweet! Don’t put my name in, though, because it would cost too much to mail it all the way to Denmark if I won. I am sure whoever gets it will love it! I have several old knee socks that I fill with rice and heat up in the microwave. Laying one of those across achy shoulders feels wonderful! It may not be as pretty, but it does the trick! Blessings to you and your family, sweet lady!
I probably am disqualified, being a guy. Besides, I don’t usually enter “lotteries”! It will be fun anyway to see who wins. Thanks, Shanda, for your comment. Albert
Me too please =]

Have a great day!
What a great idea! It is beautiful.
This is so pretty! I would love to be entered:)
I’ve been thinking of making the same thing with rice. Our pediatrician reminded us, when we were in there with Rissy on Monday, that they are wonderful! I’ll let someone else take my spot, since I’ve been thinking of making my own. You sure are sweet to think of others while you are growing a little one!
Oh yes, Shanda! The fabric you chose is adorable and your thoughts accompanying the embroidery are beautiful as well. Thank you for being so generous to your Xanga friends.
That is so nice of you to host a giveaway. I would love to put that “love” all heated up on my aches. I haven’t been reading your blog for long but I so enjoy it. Your blogs always inspire me to be a bit more crafty or remind me that I missing those little moments. Thanks again for hosting such a fun giveaway.
