*The children are doing “bare bones” education today, Language Arts, Spelling, and Math.
*Grace wore her nightgown until 11:30 this morning. She only got dressed because I insisted.
*Went to the grocery store with Caleb, had a grumpy cashier who was busy barking orders to everyone around her, loudly.
*I fell asleep watching “Toy Story 2” with the kids. (After David got home from school).
*We LOVE home-grown pork! (Rich’s Dad raised the pig for us and had it butchered). The bacon and ham from yesterday was awesome, and tonight we try the sausage, in lasagna. If you can raise a pig, DO IT. YUM.
*Rich went to work yesterday and today with nothing to look forward to but meeting after meeting all day long. He looked so haggard last night that I sent him to bed at 9. He once read a book, “Death by Meetings”, and is now experiencing it first hand (well, I hope not, but you know what I mean).
*I made banana muffins today. Iced cookies yesterday. We are well-supplied in baked goods.
*It’s chilly out today, and raining.
*I missed getting the recycling out to the curb in time for pick-up again today. I hate that!
*The bunny is doing fine.
*I had a doctor’s appointment yesterday. My weight is 142, I’ve gained 20 pounds total so far. Blood pressure fine, baby’s heartbeat strong and healthy, I had a flu shot. Next time I go, I get my dreaded Rhogam injection.
*I bought a baby book for the new baby yesterday at Hallmark, and since we were at the mall, we also went to the Children’s Place, where Grace and I picked out some half price little bitty socks and a bib, and a sleeper for baby, too. Very Fun.
*I’m so sleepy today. I think I’ll go back to the couch soon, with a mug of hot decaf coffee.
*Being this sleepy reminds me of the picture I took of Grace this past Sunday morning, in the hotel room that she and I shared with Caleb (Rich was in another one, with the three other boys, having adventures. We won’t talk about how and why David dialed 911 five times while his Dad was in the shower. . . . . . .*at 10:45pm!*. . . . .)
Sleepy-day Banana-Walnut Muffins
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (I didn’t have any, so I substituted a 1/2 cup of old-fashioned oats)
1/4 cup melted butter (I was too sleepy to melt butter, I used canola oil)
1 cup mashed, ripe banana (about 2 bananas)
1/2 cup milk
2 large eggs.
Mix dry ingredients. Then, in separate bowl, mix wet ingredients. Add to well in center of dry, mix lightly (until moistened, don’t over mix).
Put batter in well-greased muffin tins. Bake at 425, for about 20 minutes.
Makes 12 muffins.

Sounds like you’ve had a busy and eventful weekend. It’s so dark here right now, I totally feel you on the sleepy day. Hope you have a nice evening.
Today isn’t a sleepy day for anyone around here except me. Those muffins sound like just the ticket for tea this afternoon.
David gave me the laugh for the day. That’s why I waited until I was afraid people would think I was neglectful to teach my children 911. You Need a barebones day!
We’re kind of having a sleepy, but fun day. As I type the girls are playing in a tent they made in the living room. Josh has made a fire and it’s so warm and cozy. :)Oh that David makes me laugh, but now I want to hear the story behind that one. ๐
LOL…911. Yikes! I’m glad to know a fellow RH-negative mommy! I had my rhogam shot again, and seriously, the nurse was so good, I barely even felt the needle! Of course, the serum burned later, but not too bad. Sounds like a nice day. I tried to fall asleep w/ Sam this afternoon, but he just kept wiggling. He was NOT tired.
After reading the banana muffin recipe, I almost clicked right off the computer to go make some!!! It’s kind of hilarious about your little guy calling 911 while daddy was in the shower. My goodness! My day has been quiet and it is a beautiful sunny, warm day with a bit of a breeze. Our elm tree leaves are finally turning color! YAY for FALL! I hope you have more energy tomorrow! love, Gail
I would so love to raise a pig and have fresh pork! I can only imagine how yummy it is!! David calling 911 cracks me up. I can’t believe that none of my children have done that yet. Your banana muffins sound great. Bethany wants to bake this afternoon- we’ll see what we come up with. Hope you can get some rest!
Sounds like a “nice” sleepy day:)
oh dear, calling 911 five times?? =)
I had to have those Rhogam shots too….=(
I thought about you today while watching The Weather Channel, looking at how cool it’s going to be up your way. It was 75 here today… although we’re expecting a bit of a cool down later in the week.
everyone needs sleepy days now and then
When you have time the David story sounds like a good one:) I have some sleepy days every now & then. Mine was Monday:) Hope you enjoy the evening. Poor Rich I hope his week gets better.
Hey there – found your site through the blog ring. I really enjoyed your pictures and your thoughts. You have a lovely family. Always looking for new mommy friends here in xangaland – so stop by anytime.
I kind of wish you WOULD talk about Davey’s phone adventures!
I love sleepy, rainy days. The 911 calls made me smile. I wasn’t thrilled with the Rhogam shots either. I’m glad my daughters won’t need them.
911 FIVE times? LOL!!! I’ll bet that was an adventure in and of itself! Please tell us all about it ๐
These kind of sleepy days already feel so far from my stage of life right ow but reading this reminded me of being pregnant and sleeping on the couch, it is such a cozy stage to be in!!!
