Yesterday, I was thrilled to photograph a “Cecropia Silkmoth” (thanks to coolmomofeight for figuring out what it was!!).  The moth was dangling off a small branch on the edge of our yard, in a shrub.  I wrote yesterday, when I posted the photos, that I said a prayer that God would give it the best life it could possibly have.

WELL . . . . . . . .

I would say things are going rather well.  Wouldn’t you?

  1. Shanda, God has given you some sort of special present these last few days.  Many of us will never see this huge gigantic fantastic moth yet you’ve seen two of them now!!  And to witness the miracle of one just emerged from his cocoon to now making some itty bitty baby moths…well I’d say that’s some sort of present.  Thanks for sharing!

  2. Cecropia Moths are one of the most beautiful moths I have ever seen! As I child I had the privilege of watching one actually “hatch” from the cocoon. Did you know that as the adult moth their only job is to reproduce? They cannot even eat because they have no mouth.   How amazing the marvelous creatures God designed for us to enjoy! Things are indeed going well for your moth. What a gift to witness!

  3. Simply amazing, Shanda.  What a comfort it is to see that picture.  God cares for the very smallest of creatures…He is surely watching over our needs as well.  What a great reminder.  Know that I read your blog daily.  Today’s made me smile so much, I had to comment.  *Penny
