Are you longing to see Jesus’ face someday?
What do you think you will see in His face?
I imagine LOVE, pure LOVE.
How do I know that God loves me?
I thought of these reasons today:
1. Because He is merciful to me (“There is nothing little about God; His mercy is like Himself—-it is infinite.” -Spurgeon)
2. His grace. I have so much to be thankful for. Those things are proofs to me that God loves me.
3. He never leaves me. He never lets me go. He is always there.
4. He calls me by my name, I belong to Him, I am His daughter, He adopted me, He chose me, He bought me.
5. He gave me salvation and bought me with the precious blood of CHRIST, His only Son. (and that is the only reason I need)
6. I know He loves me because of the testimony and witness of other believers. Doesn’t my heart burn within me? Doesn’t my soul say “amen” when I read or listen to how God is working in my brother’s and sister’s lives?
7. Because of the good He does for my soul. He is faithful. “He who began a good work is faithful to complete it.” It is an ongoing process. He must love me to do that!
8. Because I know and have faith that God loves EVERYONE. Little children! Handicapped! Weak! Old! Anyone! No one is too unloveable to God! That includes me!
9. Even though He is still working on me, He accepts me now for what I am now. He smiles gently at me and understands what I am going through.
What happens to my soul when I meditate on God’s love for me?
1. Fear and doubt are removed (“Perfect love casts out fear” “There is no fear in love”)
2. It gives me a healthy focus during my life on earth. (God)
3. It gives me healthy motivation for service here on earth. (out of LOVE, in order to GLORIFY GOD. NOT OUT OF DUTY and not in order to earn anything from Him)
4. It enables me to have a healthy goal-“For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain”
5. It takes the sting out of death and makes Heaven a sweet reward (because I get to be with the One I love).
6. It gives me real contentment.
So, I ask one more time:
How do YOU know that God LOVES YOU–freely, unmeasurably, unlimitedly, boundlessly? Do you have a favorite story, testimony, verse, a hymn, or an encouraging word about God’s love?
“Of Thy fullness Thou art pouring
Thy great love and power on me,
Without measure, full and boundless,
Drawing out my heart to Thee.” William Reese

Amen.
My son is constantly ask me why can he see the Lord’s face
We are currently teaching Galations – the fruit of the spirt is patience.
Oh the day we see Jesus.
I had to come back and read this again before I commented. It’s so beautifully written and, I know, heartfelt. I know God loves me, first of all, because He tells me so in His Word. I know He loves me because He was willing to endure watching His Son die to cover my sins. I know He loves me beccause He always forgives me. I know He loves me because He has given me a great many things to be thankful for.
Shanda,
I long for the day I see Jesus face to face. I can not even imagine the happiness and joy there will be.

RYC: Uncle Arthur is arthritis and if this is what it feels like I don’t like it.
i cannot wait to see Jesus’ face!!!! π
Unbounded grace, it reached to me when hope was gone from view; in my despair, Christ came to me as He alone could do.
Grace was for me the only way my guilt could find relief; my destiny was changed that day I reached out in belief.
God’s grace does not on me depend, it’s God who is my Stay; His love is offered without end, He walks with me each day.
The universe with joy will ring when grace has won the day; as all creation joins to sing, “Praise God, who paid the way!”
– John Walvoord
What a beautiful post! I can’t wait to see Jesus’ face either! What a beautiful day that will be!
Beautiful post. Very heartfelt and wonderfully written! I too cannot wait until I can see Jesus face to face. It’s going to be wonderful!
This was a blessing to me. Thanks.
Thank you for this wonderful post! God’s forgiveness of my sins shows His love for me, as does Jesus giving His life for me and being raised to life again for me.
Wonderful post. Right now I am thinking of a very well known and simple song— Yes! Jesus loves me! Yes! Jesus loves me. Yes! Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so.
I love this post Shanda. It truly touched my heart and I can see your love for Jesus, through it. Words can hardly express my gratitude and love towards Christ, so I can only imagine how much He must love me and you. He has me in the palm of His hand all the time. He has shown me His love of course through His Son, Jesus. Your’re right, that alone says enough. I can bare all to Him and know He loves me just the same, His love is constant, unchanging. I have seen His protection, His mercy, His Grace, and His Compassion in my life. He has blessed me richly and given me a few surprises here and there that I know that He did only because He loves me and wanted to see me smile. I never feel like He has rejected me or let me go. He has given me a purpose, and a peace knowing that as I travel on this road called life, He is right by my side all the way and that all things will work out for the good. There just aren’t enough words…..
What a beautiful post, I too can’t wait to see Jesus’s face. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face………Now I will be singing that hymn all day
Thank you for this entry… I have just the friend I am sending your direction to be encouraged by this π Thank you!
Just saying hello. I like your post. How wonderful to know that Jesus loves us!
Great post…. I think of that song by mercy me… “I can only imagine”When I was a young new mommy with 3 under 3, I read in a book.. “mother’s heart” (I think) that as much as we love our children God loves them and ME soooo much more!!!! That just blows my mind, I could never express into words how much I love my children and HE loves us infinite more!!!!!Have a blessed day!
Talking to Steve late into the night last night, talking about our phone conversation that has since brought me to tears a number of times throughout the day. Thank you for posting this so I have a record of your thoughts not just a memory of the conversation.
Love the comment just above mine thinking of that song, it does fit so perfectly here with this topic.
Was just reading Ironside on Daniel chapter seven and at the end he says “In the present age it should be accounted a happy privilege to pass through this scene as strangers and pilgrims..” and that brought me back to our conversation, I need to cultivate the pilgrim mindset that I am passing through eager to see Abba and like you said to rest, to finally rest.
Yes, love is what I think will be on His face, in His heart and love is what we will feel when safe in His arms forever.
What a great post Shan. In everything that God does it is for our love for us, whether its his discipline, his grace, forgivness, and yes the death and resurrection of his son is the only proof we need of God’s love. I can’t wait to see Jesus! I can only imagine . . . surrounded by his glory what will my heart feel will I dance for your Jesus or in awe of you be still? will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall? will I sing halejuh? will i be able to speak at all? I can only imagine!
Thanks for the reminder. God’s love is so pure and holy and given so freely. Blessings
So I noticed you collect fiestaware…Well my husband and I were in an antique shop today and i saw some cute dishes that happened to be fiesta. There was a creamer and sugar cup set in yellow, and a colbalt blue vase. The sugar and creamer thing were each $12 and the little vase was $55. So I just thought I would tell you. I could mail them to you if you wanted to buy them. I know that sounds weird. For whatever reason when we went into this particular shop I thought “hey there is a lady on xanga that collects fiesta stuff, it would be cool to find some”. Any who, I thought I would let you know.Hope this isn’t too wierd.Have a great day.love in Christsarah
