Sweet Simple Things

Just for fun

   Sweet Simple things. . . . .

Rich making me coffee before he left for work

a calm school day

when we laughed when Caleb came out of my room with my neglected coffee. . . .he was drinking it. . . . .

when we tried making beads out of homemade playdough.  When we baked them in the oven they puffed out like strange marshmallows.

when we made cookies (jam thumbprints)

seeing Caleb’s reaction to his cookie (he ate the jam out first)

receiving Caleb’s hug and face rub into my clean outfit. . .now I am walking around with jam on myself

taking a nap

hearing yet another “Little Liza” story.  Making them up is “all the rage” at my house (the imagination is amazing!)

talking with friends on the phone

reading “Spot”. . . again. . .and that “truck book” again. . . .

being trapped in the house because of the cold

making homemade soup

waiting for my husband to get home

knowing it’s FRIDAY!

(he came home with roses)

  1. You post the most lovely of thoughts and the prettiest of pictures!
You certainly shared what should be our top priority…..enjoying the simple things…..the peace that passes understanding comes from being grateful to the Lord for those simple things. How beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing!

  2. And did Caleb sleep after drinking the coffee????  Hope he didn’t drink too much…  You should post a synopsis of the Little Liza stories! πŸ™‚  I love the picture with you holding camera and child at the same time!!!  very good!

  3. I’m so glad that you had a nice day. And Thank you for commenting my site. I saw some pictures that you had posted the other day, and one of your sons had on is 18th century coat. He looked nice in it….Kelly

  4. I almost forgot that you had asked me if I knew about Tasha Tudor. Yes, I do and I collect her books. I have 4 about her life, and 46 book that she had wrote or illustrated.

  5. Yes, I sometimes check Birds and Blooms out from the library.  I love to cut out the pictures from old copies of it and its sister magazines to make picture books in albums for my grandchildren.  I do put out a hummingbird feeder in the summer months ~ they are such special little birds.

  6. Such sweet simple things in life. Such treasures. Simple treasures. It all sounds wonderful. I know what you mean about walking around with jam all over you. πŸ™‚ How sweet to receive roses from your husband. I know that made you feel special.

  7. i love your list!   mine would include cuddling with my cat, reading a joke book with my 6 yr old ( who laughs at the most lame ones!) and dancing to the rapunzel movie with my 3 yr old. πŸ™‚
