Verses to Meditate

LOVE–  I never realized that “he that loveth another hath FULFILLED the LAW”.  This is almost beyond my understanding.  That is why I want to meditate on these verses, which I copied into my spiritual journal this morning.

Romans 13:8b-10

For he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.  For this, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not bear false witness, thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  Love worketh no ill to his neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Galatians 5:14

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this;  Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

1 Timothy 1:5

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned.  (This verse is a delight to me, I could spend the whole day thinking of just this verse and be spiritually fed)

Galatians 5:6

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision:  but faith which worketh by love.

Master (Jesus Christ), which is the great commandment in the law?

Jesus said unto him, THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY MIND.

This is the first and greatest commandment.

And the second is like unto it, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Matthew 22:37-40

How is my heart, soul, and mind?

What a treasure God’s word is!

I just thought today, that if only I were more faithful to reading and meditating on God’s word, I would NEVER run out of things to praise and thank God for in my prayers to Him.

  1. Thank you, Shan for sharing your thoughts for today!  I like taking a topic that I am thinking about and finding out what the scripture has to say about it.  It is always go to think about love as an action, not a thing…we don’t fall out of love.  We stop doing loving things for one another.  That is the same with God – we have to have actions that show God our love.
God so LOVED the world that he GAVE his Son…what are we giving to him?
Great post. – I was blessed.
