I just sighed because I want so much for my blog to be more inspiring to everyone. I JUST DON’T HAVE THE TIME TO GIVE RIGHT NOW! A “what I did today” entry is much easier and doesn’t take much thought. I still want to develop those ideas that I had weeks ago, I just haven’t done it. I wonder if I ever will?
Anyways, this is what I did today (sigh): I went grocery shopping with my five children, at Costco. It wasn’t too bad. Ethan got hurt right off the bat, though. Jacob was getting the stroller from the back of the van and when he was shutting the trunk, Ethan got it slammed right on the top of the head. It hurt. So, we stood in the parking lot for a while until he regained his composure. I had some digital pictures developed for the first time. They did a good job, I was very happy. I was able to get them developed w/a white border around them like Ritz camera does. They were 17 cents a picture. After Costco we went to Wendy’s for lunch. Drive-thru dollar menu. We ate outside, Caleb slept in his carseat in the van.
Came home. Everyone wanted more food and I had a trunk full of groceries to unpack and Costco doesn’t bag anything. Ethan helped w/out me even asking. (He gets Mom points for that
). Caleb woke up and needed attention. It’s been busy but fun, I like having the kids all around me. Sometimes I don’t. But right now, I do! Kathy called me a couple of times today, too.
The kids are watching a dvd and Caleb is asleep. I am going to make dinner soon: fish and potatoes from Real Simple magazine. Oh! That reminds me. The May issue of Real Simple is great! I loved it. There was a section about 100+ year old women (very interesting), a section that readers wrote in explaining their mother’s best advice, ideas on how to wear white, and other stuff that I can’t remember right now. I usually read it and pass it along to Kathy, who bought me the subscription, and I told her I wanted this one back when she was done with it.![]()
The guy across the road came over because someone put a bunch of garbage in his can and he wanted to know if it was me. It wasn’t. He wondered who it was and asked me if I had the phone # to the garbage company. I didn’t.
We’re supposed to have a tree removal guy come at any minute to look at our dead tree and tell us how much it’s going to cost us to remove it. It took me a year to convince my husband that he shouldn’t do it himself. Not when it’s THAT close to the house and garage!
Lea Ann, Bev has been cleaning over at your old place and she found little army men all over the place. She WASHED THEM all carefully and put them in a baggie and gave them to my boys. Now they have Gian souveniers! Jacob was playing with them this morning in the living room, setting them all up carefully, until the DESTORER came! (Caleb).
Well. That’s all for now!
Love, Shan
Yea for Shanda… moving into the age of digital! I’m having the same discussion with my husband about a dead tree in our yard. He wants to cut it down himself. I’m afraid he’s not only going to hit the house, but kill himself! You’ll have to let me know if you find a good company. Maybe I’ll be able to talk him into it.All five at Costco… fun! 🙂 I guess Caleb must be feeling at least a little better. I hope you have a good week with all your kiddos around.
I would like to invite you to a christian blog any one welcome click here —>>>JOHN 6:35
You can just remind purplehubby and writerhubby that if a professional tree company with trucks and cranes can botch a job so can they!
The estimate we got today was 900!!!
The sounds a lot better than the $112,000 worth of damages we have. Who’s the tree company? You’ll have to let me know how they do. We have a couple more trees we should take down.
I haven’t laughed so hard as I did at this entry and the comments on the tree removal! Just what ebabe needed this afternoon!
So much to say, so little room:
Wish you had taken digital pics of Ethan’s head injury by van door. That is one for the history books!
I shudder to think about Bev cleaning the parsonage; no one deserves that! Where were said army men? I wonder if they were the casualties of the outdoor war. You know my rule: once an outdoor-toy, always and outdoor toy!
I have torn out almost every page of the Real Simple magazine issue for my “home journal,” it is so chock full of great ideas! I litterally scream if anyone touches it! I watched an episode of Real Simple TV I taped this afternoon. Did you know some friends get together for a vacation every year to stay connected? Hmmmmm. I picked up the phone to call Jude, but she wasn’t home. (oh, the irony!)
maybe we should burn down dead trees?
lol – the first line of your blog describes where I am right now in blogging! Well, this post was a long time ago, and now your blog is WITHOUT QUESTION inspiring!
