Wow… all of them on the couch together! They must have been in heaven. I’m so glad they go to come and see all of you and meet little Naomi. I love how the grandparents are there trying to protect that baby from all of her wild cousins. Have a great time with all of your family.
So did everyone get over their sickness? Not Caleb, right? I’m glad the grands came anyway. Aren’t you tired now? What a special photo; are you hanging it somewhere for posterity?
Shanda! Amazing the people you run into on the ‘net! It’s funny too, because I put up that xanga site ages ago, (someone recommended it to me), and I wasn’t all that impressed, so I just kinda abandoned it. Then I get a feedback email, (which I normally delete), and I see your comment.
So…where to start? God has been very good; I’ve been married to the best, Godliest woman ever for five years, (we make quite a pair; she’s an inch taller than I am), we own a house out in Castle Creek, and we are the proud parents of a WONDERFUL 17 month-old girl – http://www.kevinlucia.net/maddylucia. I’ve been teaching 6-8th English & Media at St. John the Evangelist School in Binghamton for five years: http://www.stjohntheevangelistschool.net (I run the website, too). As you probably saw on my xanga site, I’m working on a writing project, (my little pie-in-the-sky-dream), and come August God will either smile upon me and I’ll be a published writer, or I’ll self-publish just for novelty’s sake. http://www.kevinlucia.net (At this point, my friends, parents, and students will KILL me if they don’t get a chance to read my story – I’m afraid I’ve teased them with excerpts for far too long). I’ve been exploring my options for graduate school, and I think I’ve finally settled – God Willing -on Baptist Bible College to work on my masters in Education. I also manage to squeeze in some free time reviewing books for our local Christian newspaper, The Baptist Voice. http://www.kevinlucia.net/kevinskorner
Chantal’s doing well; she’s married and lives in Monticello, NY (the reign of the giants continues, her husband is taller than ALL of us!) Things have been up and down for my parents: this area’s job market is not kind on engineers close to retirement, and mom suffered a stroke two years ago. However, God continues to provide, and they are doing pretty well, all things considering.
Spiritually, things are all about continual growth, as I’m sure you know. The older I get the more I’m convinced how much my parents knew and how little I know, and my wife and especially being a daddy has altered things drastically. For awhile there I was in that “comfortable, lukewarm” place a lot of Christians get into, but being a father and realizing that the future of my daughter’s spiritual development is in my hands has made me look at a lot of things.
Anyway, glad to hear from you. I and some fellow liked-minded Christian writers/readers post a lot at our own little forum called “Emerging Christian Writer”. You’re more than welcome to come post and chat around! http://mikelovdal.com/phpBB/index.php
God Bless.

How is Abbie with the new Baby? Is Gee wanting to carry her all around? I can picture how proud your parents must be!
